Before you can marry in Australia you need to complete a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM).  You will need to complete the NOIM and lodge it with me, your Marriage Celebrant anywhere between 18 months but at least 1 calendar month before your wedding day.    

You can fill the NOIM out (but please don't sign it) & bring it along with your Birth Certificate or valid Passport & your Drivers Licences when we meet. We will then sign the NOIM together and I submit that for you to Births Deaths & Marriages (BDM).  If we cant meet each other before the wedding you can take it to a JP to have witnessed & then mail it to me. If we can't meet in person you can get a JP to witness the NOIM and then you can mail or email it to me.  Please use full names (including any middle names) for you & your parents on the NOIM, exactly the way it is written on your birth certificates & use your Mother's maiden name not her married name. 

If you were born outside of Australia I will need to sight your Birth Certificate or Passport from your country of birth.

If either of you have been married before you will have to produce your Divorce Decree Absolute papers.  Or if either of your spouses are deceased, you must produce the Death Certificate. Or if you've ever had your name changed, you will also require an Original Name Change Certificate.  

If you can't both sign the NOIM together it's fine for one of the parties to submit the form to me.  But ... the party that hasn't signed the NOIM  absolutely must sign it PRIOR to your ceremony & in my presence.
